Receipts, 1868-1886.

Until 1932 the duties of the State Auditor included the responsibility of keeping records on all payments into and out of the state treasury. This series is composed of standard forms issued by the auditor to verify that a warrant had been received. The receipts, or vouchers, record the date, amount of the warrant, reason for payment, and the signature of the recipient. The series includes receipts filed with the Auditor (1868-1875), and the State Auditor (1875- ). Due to the large volume and duplication of information, the records have been sampled. Much of this information can be found in other series of records created by the State Auditor and/or the State Treasurer.
